BedWars Kits — Who to Rush With and Who Holds the Bed

4 min read

Which BedWars kits win early fights, which ones keep a bed alive, and why economy kits feel bad until the game is already lost.

The Bed Is the Match

BedWars is not a deathmatch with a shopping list. The team whose bed stays up can respawn. The team that spends the first two minutes in the enemy base with no wool at home loses to a player who bought stone and went back.

Your first buy is defense or a rush tool, not a meme kit's luxury item. Wool, a sword you can swing, and someone who is actually at the bed. If all four players rush, the bed is a gift.

Kits change how you do that job. They do not replace it. A strong kit on a team that never returns to base is still a loss.

Kits That Should Cross the Bridge

Ember is the rush kit on our list: fire damage and a reason to be in their base early. Void Knight is the mobility and burst version of the same idea. Barbarian is the aggressive melee rush when you want the fight, not the cross-map trick.

Archer pressures from range so the rush does not have to walk into three people alone. Knight is the frontline when the team is actually fighting together. These are the kits you queue when the plan is "their bed, then ours."

Do not rush on a kit you have not played in a custom. Void Knight's mobility is a death if you dash off the map. Ember's damage does not matter if you arrive with no blocks to get home.

Kits That Should Be at the Bed

Jade is the sustain pick for team fights that happen on your side of the map. Builder is the defensive kit. Melody heals a team that is grouped. If your stack has none of these and four rush kits, you will win fights and lose the bed in the same minute.

Farmer is economy. It feels slow because it is slow. It pays off when the game goes long and the other team spent their iron on the first rush. It loses when nobody on your team can fight at minute three. Do not solo-queue Farmer into a lobby of rush kits and call the kit bad.

Ninja and Spirit Catcher are high-skill and niche. They are not the kit you learn the map on. Meme kits are for after you can win without them.

A Round You Can Repeat

Spawn, buy blocks, put a layer on the bed, then decide. One player crosses. One player stays long enough that a single intruder does not end the game. The other two follow the cross only after that layer exists.

Buy the sword upgrade before the funny item. A better sword in a fight you were going to take anyway wins more games than a kit passive you forgot to press.

When you die, you are not done if the bed is up. Buy, bridge, and go to the fight that is already happening. Wandering for diamonds while the bed alarm is on is how comebacks die.

Codes Do Not Pick Your Kit

BedWars codes, when they exist, are cosmetics and the occasional currency drop. They do not unlock Ember. Check the codes page after a season announcement. Do not delay a match for a string that has been expired since the last battle pass.

The kit tier list is the ranking after patches. This article is who should be where in the first five minutes. If a patch note moves a kit, the list moves. Your job in the match does not: bed first, then the fight.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

Knight or Barbarian if you want to fight, Builder if you want to learn defense. Ember and Void Knight after you can get home without falling.

Is Farmer bad?

Farmer is slow on purpose. It is an economy kit for games that last. It is a bad solo pick into four rushers.

What should I buy first?

Blocks for the bed, then a sword you will use in the next fight. Luxury items come after someone is home.
