Deepwoken Attunements — What to Learn Before You Wipe
Which Deepwoken attunements a new character should practice, why the code box is usually empty, and how not to wipe on a build you have not learned.
An Empty Code Box Is the Normal State
Deepwoken rarely ships public promo codes. As of this month the active list is empty on purpose. The developers spend their patches on the game, not on a redeem string. Bookmark the codes page for the day that changes. Do not hunt fake codes while your character is still in the tutorial waters.
Progression is the attunement, the weapon, and not wiping. A code would be a convenience. It is not the build.
Attunements Worth the Practice
Shadowcast is the mobility and burst at the top of our list. Thundercall is combos and range. Frostdraw is control. Those three are the ones people mean when they say the meta. They are also the ones that wipe you if you pick them and do not practice the string.
Flamecharm is the consistent damage pick. Galebreathe is mobility and mix-ups. Ironsing is the tank with utility. Bloodrend is sustain. Syllable is support. Off-meta attunements need a specific build. Complex attunements without practice are how a first character ends at the fragment screen.
Learn one attunement until the combo is boring. Then care about the tier list. A Flamecharm you can hit beats a Shadowcast you saw in a video.
Wipes Are the Tax on Greed
Deepwoken deletes the character when you die in the wrong place. The first hours should be boring: the trainer, the weapon you understand, the mobs you can kill without a dice roll. Crossing into a high-level zone to "see the map" is a wipe with extra steps.
Do not respec into a hybrid because one fight went badly. Hybrids look flexible and lose to someone who put the points in the attunement they actually cast.
If you wipe, the lesson is the zone, not the attunement. Roll the same one again unless you could not execute it. Switching every life means you never learn either kit.
PvP After the PvE Route Is Dull
Player fights in the overworld are not the tutorial. Turn them on when you can kill the camp you are farming without thinking. Before that, you are a loot drop with a rare attunement name.
Ironsing and Frostdraw forgive a missed input more than a pure burst attunement. If you want to learn PvP, start on something that lives through one mistake. Shadowcast and Thundercall are the destination, not the first duel.
Private practice beats jumping the first ganker you see. One combo, then the fight. Not the other way around.
Patches Rewrite Weapons Overnight
A Deepwoken patch can move an entire weapon line. When that happens, the tier list moves after we see the fights, not when a thumbnail says nerf. Check the attunement you play before you wipe a character to chase yesterday's S tier.
The codes page will stay empty until the developers use the box. That is a feature of this game. The guide and this article are the progression. The empty list is us refusing to invent a string.
❓ Frequently Asked Questions
Are there Deepwoken codes?
No public codes are active. The developers rarely use the box. We list them when they redeem and leave the page empty when they do not.
Which attunement should I start?
Flamecharm if you want damage you can repeat. Frostdraw or Ironsing if you want a kit that survives a mistake. Shadowcast after you can already fight.
What causes a wipe?
Dying in a place the game treats as permanent. Stay in content you can clear before you chase a higher zone or a PvP toggle.
