Murder Mystery 2 — Win the Role Before You Chase a Knife

3 min read

How Innocent, Sheriff, and Murderer actually win a round, and what the current MM2 codes put in your inventory.

Three Roles, About Two Minutes

Every Murder Mystery 2 round assigns Innocent, Sheriff, or Murderer. The Murderer is trying to clear the Innocents. The Sheriff has one gun and loses the round by shooting the wrong person. Innocents survive, watch, and pick up a gun only after the Sheriff is gone.

Rounds are short. You will play all three roles in an evening. A rare knife does not change who has the gun.

Innocent Is Information

Watch who follows, who peels off, and who is standing on a body. Groups are safer than a hallway you entered because it looked empty.

Leave the Sheriff's gun on the Sheriff. Picking up a dropped gun early paints you as the person the real Murderer wants next, and it can look like a shot the Sheriff did not take. When the Sheriff dies, the drop is the round. Take it then.

The Sheriff Shot Is the Whole Game

One innocent down and the Murderer wins. Patience is the weapon. Players who close distance for no reason, or who orbit a body, are the read. A twitch shot at the nearest name is how good Sheriffs lose.

Keep the gun up. Do not advertise it across the map by waving it at everyone who walks past.

Murderer Is Isolation, Then the Knife Throw

Open rooms are where the Sheriff is looking. Take the Innocent who is already alone. Leave the Sheriff until the count is low enough that a trade is acceptable.

The knife throw is the range tool, and it has a cooldown. Missing it in front of the Sheriff is a confession. Use it when the shot is the elimination, not when you are bored of walking.

Codes Put a Knife in the Inventory

The live codes we list are B4CK2SK00L (Skool Knife), C0RL (Corl Knife), F1RSTC0D3 (an uncommon knife), and N3XTL3V3L (TNL Knife). They are collection items. They do not make the Sheriff's shot correct.

Keys from login and play open crates. Trade duplicates if you are collecting. Our tier list puts Nik's Scythe, Corrupt, and Traveler's Axe at the top, with Batwing, Ice Dragon, Handsaw, and Sugar under them. Chase those with keys and trades you understand. A code knife is a start, not the value ladder.

If you only change one habit: stop shooting as Sheriff because the round feels long. The round is supposed to feel long.
