Doors
Beginner Guide
Last updated: July 6, 2026
Survive the Hotel, learn entity patterns, and push to Door 100 in Doors.
How Doors Works
Doors is a horror roguelike. You and your team progress through numbered hotel rooms, solving light puzzles and surviving entities.
Each door leads to a new room type β some are safe, others spawn deadly entities. Reach Door 100 to win the run.
Essential Items
Always carry a light source. Lockpicks and skeleton keys open locked paths. Crucifixes can prevent entity spawns in key rooms.
Buy revives if you're learning β one mistake shouldn't end a 30-minute run. Redeem codes on our codes page for free knobs.
Common Entities
Rush and Ambush require hiding in closets. Screech appears in dark rooms β turn around when you hear the hiss. Eyes damages you if you look at it.
Learn one entity at a time. Watch for audio cues β headphones help enormously.
Co-op Tips
Stick together but don't crowd closets β only one player needs to hide for most entities.
Call out room numbers and item locations. If someone dies, decide quickly whether to revive or push forward.
Advanced Runs
Once you beat the Hotel, try Mines and higher difficulties. Speed comes from memorizing room layouts and entity timers.
